Many West Ham United fans have rubbished links with the Barcelona defender Moussa Wague.
According to a report from the Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, the Hammers are currently in talks with the Catalan giants over the possibility of bringing the Senegalese international to the London Stadium.
The report adds that David Moyes has two options available to him. Firstly, the 21-year-old can move to East London for €10 (£9.1m), or take him on loan with an option to buy for £14.5m during the following summer.
With Ryan Fredericks the club’s only right-back and Jeremy Ngakia set to leave West Ham, the Scottish tactician is searching tirelessly for a new right-back.
Should West Ham look to bring in Moussa Wague?
Yes
No
Following his €5m (£4.5m) transfer to Spain in 2018, he predominantly played for Barcelona B before he was loaned out to Nice the following campaign, where he only made five appearances and provided two assists, as per TransferMarkt. As a result, the Ligue 1 outfit opted not to activate his purchase option.
With this in mind, supporters are not convinced that the owners will back Moyes on this and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan believes that the club will only offer “£3m and miss out”, while another simply feels that we are not in for Wague.
We’ll offer £3m and miss out.
