Plenty of West Ham United fans have been pleading the club to make a move for the Arsenal outcast Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
The Athletic revealed that the 22-year-old feels his time at the North London outfit has come to an end after six seasons of playing in the Gunners’ first-team.
Since January, Maitland-Niles has played 90 minutes of football just once and appears to be not part of Mikel Arteta’s long term plans.
Should West Ham look to bring in Ainsley Maitland-Niles?
Yes
No
In total, the English right-back has scored just three goals and provided five assists from 97 appearances, accumulating over 6000 minutes on the pitch, as per TransferMarkt.
There has always been the argument surrounding him about what his best position is, with the ability to play as a right-sided midfielder and in front of the back four in the middle.
Because of this, supporters were keen to see Maitland-Niles brought to East London but not as a right-back. One fan said that this move would be a “no-brainer”, while another described him as a “young talented guy”.
I’d take him for sure. CM, RM and back up for our new first choice right back.

I’d take him all day!
Underrated player so could bring youth, speed, athleticism to our midfield!

I’d 100% take him in his natural position. Wouldn’t join as a RB, though. https://t.co/YwhtWCrKCe
