Some West Ham supporters have been reacting on social media after Claret & Hugh claimed the club are set to sign Millwall goalkeeper David Martin.
The London-born shot-stopper is set to become a free agent on June 30, after two years at the Den, where he has mostly been the back-up option.
It is thought that will be the case with us as well, with the £225,000-rated ‘keeper expected to be our new third-choice between the sticks, while also boosting our homegrown quota.
Despite his reserve status at the Den, Neil Harris was forced to turn to Martin’s services toward the end of the recently concluded campaign following Ben Amos’ return to parent side Bolton Wanderers.
During his run in the Lions’ net, the former England youth international made 25 saves in a ten-game stretch that featured four clean sheets.
Martin had been linked with a move from one East London side to another earlier this month, too, when it was suggested Director of Football Mario Husillos had made advances to bring the 33-year-old to the London Stadium.
Should that prove to be the case, Martin’s arrival would not be celebrated wildly…
Signing Millwalls number 2 keeper literally because his dad played for us

I imagine it’ll be a 1 year deal with Trott hopefully going out on loan, the nurturing Trott into the first team next season

Shouldn’t we be loooking to sign a keeper who is going to push Fabianski for the No.1 spot ? ⚒

Terrible, terrible signing. We’ve probably got outfield players that could do a job if we’re that desperate ????

Don’t understand this transfer at all, would of been better off giving Adrian a new contract
