West Ham United have been linked with a possible move for Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos for much of the summer.
According to the Daily Express back in May, we were thought to have opened talks with the La Liga giants about a switch, however, not a lot has since happened on that front – whilst we also completed a deal for Pablo Fornals.
Any speculation about him joining us at the London Stadium for the upcoming campaign appears to have been cooling over the last few weeks as those suggestions are not quite what they used to be now, but his recent performance for Spain’s Under-21 side appears to have got fans talking about him once again.
Although they may have lost 3-1 to Italy in their European Championship group match, Ceballos looked to be one of the best players on the pitch and one of the only Spanish players to come away with any credibility following their blowout defeat.
The 22-year-old obviously already has plenty of experience at a senior level, so that may have helped him put in a solid performance, however, there is no doubting the quality he possesses and the potential he has to be an outstanding midfielder in the future.
Ceballos could be an excellent midfielder partner with Fornals and Declan Rice in a three as the Spaniard is a box-to-box player who has the balance of being able to play in a deep-lying role or further up the pitch.
