West Ham have found it difficult to find stability so far this season, losing six of their opening 12 Premier League matches.
There have been positives to take from Manuel Pellegrini’s first few months in charge at the London Stadium though and one of those has been the impressive performances of some of his summer signings.
Issa Diop stood as the club’s all-time most expensive additions for a few weeks in the summer, until the fee paid for his services was exceeded by the deal bringing Felipe Anderson to East London, but the France youngster has certainly excelled.
Still just 21, West Ham fans have been pleased with the performances of the defender so far and took another opportunity to heap praise upon him this week after a post from the club’s official social media account showed a highlight of a superb tackle made in the recent 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town.
That led to some responses from supporters and we have gathered some of the best below.
At last we have two centre defenders who can actually tackle!!! No we need a couple of full backs to go with them

He’s proving to be a great signing. So this just goes to show the club should install a philosophy of signing young hungry up and coming players. Not players in their 30s which more often than not hasn’t worked, Zabaleta aside. Do this and we can build a successful team.
