There has been a lot of speculation over who our next kit supplier will be, but it was believed last year that Nike would be swooping in to take over from Umbro, once our contract with the English sportswear company expires.
Claims that Nike would be paying us three times that of Umbro were even made in 2018, with suggestions touted that the American multinational corporation could table £12million-a-season to have their logo represented in East London.
Now, however, ExWHUemployee has hinted that neither Nike, nor their leading rival Adidas, will be our technical supplier from the 2020/21 season, which has opened the door for the speculation to mount on social media again as to who could produce our kits going forward.
Nike were set to be on the lookout for a new partner in the Premier League, as the title-elect Manchester City are due to switch from them to Puma at the end of the current campaign, with Arsenal ditching the German brand in favour of a £300m agreement with Adidas.
There are plenty of other brands that could produce our sporting gear going forward, too, with New Balance also due to break from their current partner Liverpool, as the Anfield natives are rumoured to be in talks with Nike.
Here’s what supporters on Twitter have suggested…
