‘I’d take him’, ‘would be fun’ – These West Ham fans were all saying the same thing following ExWHUemployee update

Just think about the possibility of Mario Balotelli as a West Ham United player – it is sure to create a number of different opinions amongst the fanbase, however, many of them on Twitter would be more than open to the idea of it becoming a reality.

According to the reliable source of inside information regarding the Hammers, ExWHUemployee, the Italian forward is thought to be a potential target of ours this summer, should we not be able to land Maxi Gomez.

Speaking on the latest instalment of The West Ham Way Podcast (12 June 2019, 36mins), he revealed that the free-agent could be an option that Manuel Pellegrini considers making an approach for.

The 28-year-old did rather well with the Chilean during their time together at Manchester City and appeared to do extremely well with Olympique de Marseille, having found the back of the net eight times in his 15 appearances for them towards the back end of the campaign (Transfermarkt).

However, Balotelli does not come without any risks. Firstly, his temperament is something that could prove to be difficult to handle as he likes to have a moan and sulk if things do not go as he would like them to. Whether Pellegrini would be able to control that would remain to be seen whilst having Marko Arnautovic at the club still could make the dressing room a rather difficult place to manage with those two personalities in it.

Injuries have also followed the Italy international throughout his career (Transfermarkt)- making him a risk – whilst his last spell in England (with Liverpool) was hardly one to fill anybody with confidence regarding his ability as he really struggled to find any form at Anfield.

But, that does not appear to have concerned fans as talk of Balotelli at West Ham appears to have got a number of them excited about the prospect of him being at the London Stadium next season. Here are some of their reactions…
