Hammers Support Not Optimistic That Today Will Be The Day

|

Confidence amongst the Hammers support appears to be lagging after a string of poor results, results culminating in a defeat, at the London Stadium, against our London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, in the Carabao Cup.

Today, Saturday, West Ham United welcome Burnley to our neck of the woods for a Premier League game. If the Hammers form is poor, then Burnley’s is a lot worse.

The team from Turf Moor have lost their last two games emphatically, being crushed 5-0 by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium and then losing 4-0 at home to Chelsea.

On paper, you’d think that this would be an ideal fixture for West Ham to get back to winning ways, but our most recent poll doesn’t support that supposition.

Presented with a question asking for the visitors to this site to predict the result, 47% were of the opinion that it would be more misery for the Hammers with Burnley winning.

A further 13% can only see the game ending in a draw, which leaves just 40% believing that Manuel Pellegrini’s side will get what is, these days, a rare win.

Here’s hoping that the 40% have gauged this right.
