Hammers Beset With Injury Problems Ahead of Clash With Troubled Burnley

|

In the middle of a poor run of form, you can but hope that there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel.

That light could, quite possibly, be the fixture this afternoon, against Burnley.

The Lancashire side are also struggling for form, suffering from the curse that seems to affect Premier League clubs who are forced to play in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League.

But, at times like this, you need Lady Luck to be on your side, but she certainly seems to have turned a blind eye when it comes to the members of the squad remaining fit.

Today, against Burnley, according to the BBC, the Hammers will be without six key players, in the shape of:

• Andy Carroll
• Manuel Lanzini
• Carlos Sanchez
• Winston Reid
• Jack Wilsherea

and

• Andriy Yarmolenko

Throw into the mixer the fact that Aaron Creswell and Marko Arnautovic require fitness tests before their participation is confirmed and that Mark Noble remains suspended, it really is a sorry state of affairs.

But, for the Hammers, it seems to be a common problem, leaving me to believe that, perhaps, a mirror got smashed when we left the Boleyn Ground a couple of seasons ago!
