West Ham’s struggles to find consistency continued on Saturday as the Hammers returned from the international break to suffer defeat at the hands of Manchester City.

While a 4-0 defeat against Pep Guardiola’s title favourites was not that surprising, it leaves the stats looking very bleak for Manuel Pellegrini’s side as they have now lost seven of their opening 13 Premier League matches – winning just three.

Admittedly, the Hammers have faced a difficult opening schedule and have more favourable fixtures on the horizon but concerns are starting to rise about the East London side – and the latest comments from Lukasz Fabianski have not eased those worries.

Speaking after the loss against the Citizens, the summer signing from Swansea City suggested that West Ham should not be too concerned following the heavy defeat – which led to some backlash on social media.

Many identified that the Hammers have endured a woeful start to the campaign and condemned the experienced goalkeeper for his attitude. We have gathered some of their comments below.

  • Loosing to this citeh side was hardly surprising of unexpected
They are one of the best teams in the world, play football that is completely on a different level and will hand out similar beatings to teams that are far better than us!

Perspective I believe is the word we’re looking for here!

  • And what if West Ham don’t beat Newcastle …. what then? West Ham players and manager keep speaking as if their is no need for personal/team jacking ups to do. then rather lets have Moyes/Pearce back to get these players off their backsides to some hard grafts and strong talks. Do we have another Billic in Pelligrini ?

  • with an injury list looking like a first team and up against the top team in the league, what did people (honestly) think was going to happen. Look forward to the next few games, and assess then. We have the core of a decent squad, let alone just the first 11. Let it be…
