West Ham fans have had some bad results down the years and seen some shockers go in, but last night was one that even they could only laugh at, probably because it came from the club’s U21’s as opposed to from the seniors in the Premier League.
Cheltenham are ahead.

As the West Ham U21s travelled to Cheltenham Town to face the League Two side, they started very well, and at the break they found themselves 3-1 up. However, a second-half collapse saw them lose 4-3 in the EFL Trophy clash.
It’s not one that would have gone down at all well had it been the senior side who were out on the pitch, but the fact that it was the youngsters has meant that they’ve got off scotfree from a lot of fans, even if it did take just 22 minutes for Cheltenham to come back from 3-1 down to lead 4-3.

The Hammers are far from pleased with their young side’s collapse, although at least some of them can see the funny side of it.
