West Ham are in the market for a new addition to their forward line amidst widespread reports that Marko Arnautovic will be jetting off to China to join Shanghai SIPG.
The potential departure of the Austria international will leave a void at the London Stadium that needs filling and the Hammers have been linked to a host of attacking options – and fans seem keen on one of the latest candidates that is said to be on the club’s shortlist.
Sky Sports has stated West Ham have revived their interest in Celta Vigo forward Maxi Gomez, who has scored nine goals and contributed five assists this season, although the east London side will have to match his hefty £45m release clause.
While that fee is unlikely to be matched, many West Ham fans on social media are delighted with the links to the 22-year-old Uruguay international and we have gathered some of their comments below.
Just can't begin to fathom an attacking quartet of Anderson, Lanzini, Nasri and Gomez with Rice behind, we could absolutely tear teams apart ????

Maxi Gomez has the physicality of Arnautovic, the aerial threat of Carroll, the finishing of Chicharito and the technical ability of Lucas Perez. Would be mad not to go for him.

If Maxi Gomez is a possibility (which I doubt) I would 100% sell 30yo dodgy knee Arnautavic for him.
