The latest international break has led to another hiatus in domestic football but there has still be plenty attracting the attention of West Ham fans.
While many members of the Hammers squad represent their nations, Declan Rice stayed at home as he continues to mull over his international future.
The 19-year-old has already represented the Republic of Ireland on three occasions and throughout youth levels but is considering switching his allegiance to England – with FIFA regulations permitting him to do so as he has not appeared in a senior competitive game.
Having already worked his way into Ireland’s squad, supporters of the nation are furious with the possibility that Rice could jump ship and took the opportunity to heave criticism on the youngster on social media.
Rice sent a cryptic tweet about West Ham this week and it was sent at the same that the Republic of Ireland were playing Denmark, a game which finished goalless, and many Irish fans responded.
We have gathered some of their reactions below.
