‘Can we not just take another week off?’: These West Ham fans are not looking forward to Premier League’s return

|

West Ham have struggled for consistency this season and have had two weeks to collect themselves after a disappointing 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town prior to the international break.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have suffered six defeats in 12 Premier League matches this season, despite splashing over £100m in the market during the summer, and face another daunting task when domestic action returns this weekend.

The Hammers go toe-to-toe with title favourites Manchester City on Saturday, hosting Pep Guardiola’s side at the London Stadium in a match where the odds are firmly stacked against Pellegrini’s men.

Flying high at the top of the table, City have picked up 32 points from a possible 36 and have scored 36 goals, conceding just five in the process.

Meanwhile, West Ham have just three victories and three draws to their name – which leaves the likelihood of adding to their tally this weekend extremely slim. As a result, fans are certainly not confident ahead of the game.

We have gathered some of their thoughts below.
