Jordan Hugill was one of the more bizarre signings from West Ham in recent seasons and, after just a few months at the club, Manuel Pellegrini elected to send the striker on loan for the season.
The 26-year-old joined boyhood club Middlesbrough in the Championship and has struggled for consistency, scoring three league goals in 16 appearances and netting once in the Carabao Cup.
His latest display came in the midweek defeat to League One outfit Burton Albion in the quarter-finals of the League Cup, where the Teessiders were stripped of a spot in the final four by a 1-0 defeat.
Hugill played just over an hour of the match at the Riverside Stadium, picking up a yellow card before being substituted, and was met with vast criticism following his showing – and we have selected a variety of the comments from Middlesbrough fans below.
Send hugill back to WHU not good enough

@bbcteessport Worst result and performance since Cardiff. Feeling very numb. Wasted opportunity. No manager can survive a result like that, especially when playing such poor football. Hugill is one of the worst players to wear a #Boro shirt

And while I’m at it, Jordan Hugill wouldn’t look dangerous with a bazooka in his hands. #borolive
