West Ham fell to another defeat at the weekend after losing 4-0 to Premier League title favourites Manchester City at the London Stadium.
The loss means that the Hammers have lost seven of their opening 13 league games this season, winning just three, but the result on Saturday does not truly reflect the performance from Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
While poor defending at times proved to be costly, West Ham did create a number of opportunities at the other end and the scoreline could have been a lot different if the hosts had brought their scoring boots to the game.
That was identified by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, who stated after the match that his City side were fortunate – and his assessment of the game pleased many West Ham fans on social media, who praised him for his comments.
We have gathered some of the responses below.
Interesting that he says that there’s no fear factor compared to other grounds they’ve played at. Thought we played well in spells as he said, but you have to feel that the atmosphere at the LS doesn’t lend itself to putting the bigger teams under pressure

Got to love a manager that is honest enough to recognize that they had good fortune today. Deserved the win for the clinical finishing vs WHU profligacy… but on another day, who knows.
