West Ham’s difficult start to the season continued on Saturday with a 1-1 draw against Leicester City, which leaves the Hammers with just two victories from their opening ten Premier League matches.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side have admittedly faced a difficult fixture list at the start of the campaign, already clashing with the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea, so there is optimism ahead of the more favourable clashes that lie ahead.
Positives have already been taken from the season so far though and Declan Rice continues to be the name on everybody’s lips in East London, continuing his stellar rise after breaking into the first-team frame last season.
Rice became a mainstay in the side during David Moyes’ short stint in charge and had to force his way back into the team during the early weeks of Pellegrini’s reign, now establishing himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet and earning praise from supporters on social media.
