West Ham fans have been left both annoyed and frustrated with the performances of some of their top stars this season. One man, in particular, has failed to hit the levels expected of him, as the club’s Argentine international Manuel Lanzini is yet to score this season (Transfermarkt).
Would you agree with Tony Cottee, that Lanzini is West Ham’s best player?

The attacking midfield man has got bags of talent and the ability to turn games on his own. However, his poor form this season is certainly a cause for concern, although Tony Cottee, the ex-West Ham striker, has claimed that the midfielder is the Irons’ best player (Claret and Hugh).
For the fans to conform to this and agree with their former striker’s comments that Lanzini is their best player then the Argentine really needs to step up his game over the next couple of weeks. Getting a goal or two on the board is crucial, and if he can find his best form then you’d bet that the Hammers would also be able to end their five-game winless run.

He isn’t in the top 5

He has been inconsistent since we got him. Can’t be relied on, should have sold not given a new contract

Haven’t seen him have a good game for months

He needs to start proving it

He’s lucky to be keeping his place!

Not even top 10 would sell him to river plate tomorrow

The fans simply don’t agree with Cottee’s bold claim, although should Lanzini find his best form that could change.
