West Ham’s current predicament is a tough one. The Hammers are in a position where playing Championship football next season is a real possibility and as the Irons try and get themselves out of their current position they’ve been looking back at some transfers from the last few years.
Was Selling Cheikhou Kouyate to Palace for £11m a huge mistake?

One particular deal that the fans have been discussing is the decision to allow Cheikhou Kouyate to leave the London Stadium to sign for another of the Premier League’s London clubs, Crystal Palace, and whilst the Irons aren’t annoyed he was sold, they’re annoyed he wasn’t replaced.
The Senegalese defensive midfielder was a big part of the Hammers midfield for a time, and whilst he may have come across lazy and blown hot and cold, the fact that he was sold without being replaced adequately seems to have gotten under the skins of many of the Hammers, who have made their feelings very clear.
Would you take Cheikhou Kouyate back?
Yes
You can read the Irons’ thoughts on Kouyate here:
Selling him was not the mistake. Not reinvesting one the core of the team was however

No not replacing him with better was the mistake

100% yes. I think he got a raw deal from a small selection of the fans and did not deserve the treatment he got. He was versatile and gave everything… He was sacrificed over Obiang (who infact was a worse player).

Should have kept him and sold Obiang

Selling Kouyate and Obiang and not replacing them with a box to box midfield was a mistake – yes.

Not replacing any cm we have sold is the huge mistake

The Hammers have got little time for their club and the way they’ve recruited over the last few years, and when you look at how the Kouyate departure was dealt with, who can blame them.
