On Wednesday night West Ham fans got yet another chance to see their young U23 side in action as they took on Wolfsburg B in the Premier League International Cup, and whilst the Irons fell to a 3-2 home loss, they had plenty of impressive performers.

The headlines were made by the return of Winston Reid to footballing action. However, with youngsters Joe Powell and Anthony Scully both scoring the goals that the hosts bagged in the 3-2 defeat, a lot of fans were left calling for the pair to make their step up to the senior side.
Every club has got young players that the fans are desperate to see more of, and whilst we’re not expecting Manuel Pellegrini to drop his tried and tested senior stars for some of his U23s, the supporters are absolutely desperate for some of them to get at least a chance in the first team.

The Irons absolutely love their young side, and sooner or later they’re going to be very excited when some of the talented U23s get their senior chance.
