Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham look to have gone stale. The Hammers are playing some turgid football and the fans want to see a change. Only time will tell if that change comes in the form of the system and the football under the Chilean or the Chilean himself, but the Irons want something new.
Our current system clearly isn’t working.
A change is unlikely, but this formation would play to our strengths
– Strike partner to support Haller.
– Masuaku + Fredericks used effectively.
– 3 PL quality centre backs.
– Anderson / Fornals as a number 10. pic.twitter.com/6cgtI5kTuL— joe (@JoeBarnbrook) December 5, 2019
With that being said, the more tactically aware fans have been calling for the system changes and tweaks that they want to see, and a lot of fans are desperate for some of the suggested setups to be used when Arsenal come to Stratford on Monday night.
The chances are that Manuel Pellegrini, who has been a manager since 1988, is not going to go out on a whim and change his tactical outlook because of some frustrated and troubled fans, but the Hammers will do anything for change at this stage, even if it doesn’t look like happening.
Can Pellegrini save his job by changing his system?
Yes
No
You can read the Irons’ thoughts on the system here:
This is exactly what we need to play. Will never happen under MP though. https://t.co/H4yE96HWni

Pace going forward
Support for Haller
Another CB for set play issues
Better balance
Too complex for the old dinosaur Pellegrini

I think that team would make absolute sense and suit the players we’ve got, playing to their strengths – Pellegrini though tactically inept IMO

That looks pretty spot on to me!
Shame Pelle will ever use it— Steve Brooker (@Hammer_Brooker) December 5, 2019
Been saying we should do this for ages! Well said that man!

Would love to see that formation and team

The Hammers will supposedly do anything for a change of system, but it doesn’t look like they’re going to get it.
