‘Doesn’t get talked about enough’ – Loads of West Ham fans praise £4.5m-rated star’s season

Some West Ham fans have been praising the efforts of Lukasz Fabianski during his maiden campaign in East London, by sharing their ‘Save of the Season’.

The £4.5million-rated goalkeeper has been one of the standout members of the dressing room under Manuel Pellegrini, and could be named our ‘Hammer of the Season’, ahead of the likes of Felipe Anderson and Declan Rice.

What’s made him so adored by the London Stadium faithful is that in his 36 Premier League games in Claret and Blue, the 48-cap Poland international has kept six clean sheets.

The former Arsenal and Swansea shot-stopper has also pulled off a range of sublime saves, even if he did go on to concede, which has given supporters on Twitter plenty to pick from.

Supporters were urged to share their praise for Fabianski by the club’s official Twitter account at the start of the week, when it was put to the fanbase: ‘What’s been your save of the season?’

The tweet included a short video of saves to chose from, including his commanding right-handed stop against Callum Wilson, when he reached down to his side to stop the ball dead in its tracks.

There was also that save against Marouane Fellaini, when the Belgian diverted a powerful header towards our goal-line, the stop against Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata with his face, and two fine efforts to prevent Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The soon-to-be out-of-contract Adrian was also included in the short clip for his reflex save in the EFL Cup against Macclesfield, when his quick reactions ensured he would go on to keep his 42nd of 43 clean sheets for the Irons.

Fabianski, though, was the clear favourite in the replies…
