‘Call him back’, ‘Not good enough’: These West Ham fans have mixed reactions to loanee’s form

|

West Ham have struggled for consistency in the first few months of Manuel Pellegrini’s reign and one major problem has been the lack of a reliable centre-forward.

Marko Arnautovic has impressed at times when leading the line but the Austria international fills the role in the side mostly due to a lack of alternatives, with Javier Hernandez failing to replicate his form from his time at Manchester United and Andy Carroll remaining on the sidelines through injury.

The Hammers made an eyebrow-raising addition back in January with the signing of Jordan Hugill from Preston and the 26-year-old made just three Premier League appearances before being loaned out to Middlesbrough in the summer.

Slow to find his feet with Tony Pulis’ side, Hugill caught the eye at the weekend as he opened his account for the title-chasing Championship outfit after scoring a brace in a 2-0 victory over Wigan.

That led to some West Ham fans debating his future and we have gathered some of the best reactions below.
