West Ham suffered their seventh defeat in 13 Premier League matches on Saturday after being swept aside by title favourites Manchester City at the London Stadium.
Pep Guardiola’s side strolled to a 4-0 victory in East London, although the scoreline does not tell the full story as West Ham put plenty of focus into their attacking play and created a number of decent openings – although they were unable to capitalize.
That at least provides some positives as the Hammers head into a more favourable run of fixtures over the course of the coming weeks and it seems that one player has won other sections of the fanbase for his latest display.
Michail Antonio has often found himself as the scapegoat in the eyes of West Ham fans this season, who regularly call for him to be axed by the side and sold in January, but he impressed some with his display against the Citizens.

Aaron Cresswell and Michail Antonio both played very well today in my opinion.

Unpopular opinion: Antonio played well yesterday and should definitely start vs Newcastle.#WHUFC #COYI

By being slightly better than average today, that's the best game I've seen Antonio have by a mile in the last 18 months!! @WestHamUtd #COYI
