Why selling Javier Hernández could be key in West Ham signing Maxi Gómez

|

It has been reported by ExWHUEmployee that West Ham’s negotiations for top target Maxi Gómez could be stretched out across the summer transfer window.

This could leave some Hammers fans to be reminded of times when similar scenarios have played out and their team have ended up being beaten to their target, having looked in control for the majority of the window.

However, even if the negotiations are drawn out, West Ham could have the key to ensuring it is London Stadium which Gomez will be moving to: Javier Hernández.

Chicharito has been linked with a move away from East London by ExWHUEmployee and the insider has said a move to Valencia is most likely for the Mexican.

Marca have suggested that Valencia could make a move for Gomez, who is rated £36million on Transfermakt, though it is unclear whether the Europa League semi-finalists would be able to bring in both players.

It is imperative that West Ham sign at least one striker this summer, with Marko Arnautovic and Jordan Hugill the only senior strikers left at the club if Chicharito departs.

West Ham seemingly have their heart set on the Uruguayan who scored 13 La Liga goals this season, so will be hoping the wantaway Chicharito can help them secure his signature.
