The 6’3″ centre-back returned to football last night for West Ham’s U-23 match in the Premier League International Cup against German side Wolfsburg, with Reid playing well over an hour of football after an extremely long period of time out due to injury.
As you would expect, supporters on social media were over the moon to see Reid back on the pitch, with fans having not seen the New Zealand international play in almost two years, and the support for the 31-year-old’s return was fantastic to see.
Here’s what some West Ham fans had to say on Twitter about the return of Reid after nearly two years out on the recovery table…

Reid has not played for the West Ham first-team since March 2018 against Swansea City, where the defender suffered a freak knee injury that has kept the defender out ever since.
