The West Ham first-team might be a constant stream of frustration for supporters, but the same can’t be said for the U-23 side and their current crop of exciting youngsters.

The Hammers main development squad welcomed Wolfsburg in the Premier League International Cup, and although West Ham fell to a 3-2 loss to the German side, the likes of Joe Powell and Anthony Scully yet again impress for the U-23’s, with the two youngsters both contributing to the east London team’s goals in the defeat.

Despite losing, supporters on social media were still pleased with what they saw from the two prospects, with some fans calling out to Manuel Pellegrini to promote the duo to the first-team based on their impressive performances in the West Ham development squad.
