It has been a difficult season so far for West Ham, who have struggled to find consistency under the guidance of Manuel Pellegrini.
The Hammers are crying out for inspiration despite splashing over £100m in the summer to bring the likes of Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko to the club, as West Ham have lost six of their opening 12 Premier League matches.
With another stern test awaiting this weekend, as Pellegrini’s side go toe-to-toe with title favourites Manchester City, there is still plenty of work to be done but fans have been handed some good news this week.
Manuel Lanzini shared a video on social media which showed the Argentina ace returning to light training, taking the next step on his long road to recovery after an injury sustained in the summer forced him to miss his nation’s World Cup campaign and the start to the season.
While the news is positive, Lanzini is still unlikely to return to West Ham’s first-team for a while but fans flocked to share their thoughts on social media. We have gathered some of their reactions below.
👍 Hopefully won't be too long until you're back, we miss you badly in the 1st team. Good Luck 💎

couldn’t love this tweet anymore if I tried! Twitter needs to design a new button to describe how happy this makes us Hammers
