West Ham close in on the signing of European ace

|

To the club’s credit, we’ve enjoyed a superb transfer window, but the club continues to persevere in the market, in the hope of concluding more signings. One such signing could see Xande Silva join the club from Portugal.

According to the Portuguese outlet, Record, we’re poised to sign Silva from Vitoria for a fee of £3.1M. It’s reported that the initial fee is set at £1.3M, but the fee could rise to £3.1M through add-ons. Additionally, Vitoria have instilled a 10% sell-on clause in the deal.

Throughout his career, Silva has represented Portugal at youth level, from the under-15s through to the under-20s. He has also amassed 26 appearances in Liga Nos.

Verdict:

One senses that this transfer is seen as a low-risk, high-reward project. If the move is unsuccessful it would be relatively easy to recoup the fee paid if Silva develops into an excellent player with us, then the price will be deemed a bargain. He’s a versatile forward who can play on the right-wing, up front, or just behind the striker.
