With the deadline fast approaching, it seems that the volume of transfer speculation has increased as clubs look to conclude their business. The latest player to be linked with a move to the London Stadium is Chelsea’s, Danny Drinkwater.
According to Team Talk, we’ve entered the race to sign Danny Drinkwater. The piece cites an article from the Daily Mirror that reveals Maurizio Sarri’s willingness to sell the English midfielder, and we could seemingly pounce on his availability.
Despite moving to Chelsea from Leicester for £35M, the 28-year-old has only made 22 appearances for the Blues – with only 12 of those coming in the league.
Here’s how West Ham supporters have reacted to the rumours on Twitter.
Would be a good upgrade on Obiang, id take him.

IMO the only reason chelsea bought him was to sell. Worth More money if he comes from Chelsea.

He might take a wage cut for first team football…

Verdict:
Having won the Premier League with Leicester, and having represented a club of Chelsea’s magnitude, this is the profile of player that we’re hoping to attract. While Drinkwater may not steal the headlines, he’s a dependable player who possesses terrific passing ability. He can also fulfil his defensive duties well. He would be a good signing.
