Versatile 28-year-old star close to sealing West Ham exit

|

Given the volume of players that we’ve signed in the window so far, it’s natural that players will be forced to depart the club. One such player is Michail Antonio whose West Ham career looks to be nearing its conclusion.

As the Daily Mirror reports, West Ham expect to sell Antonio to Crystal Palace for £15M before the conclusion of the transfer window. The versatile winger has performed commendably since making the move from Nottingham Forest, however, in light of our new signing, his services are surplus to requirements.

In 90 appearances for the club, Antonio has amassed an admirable total of 21 goals, and given his ability to function in numerous positions; it’s likely that he’ll be a great signing for Palace.

Verdict:

To lose a player of Antonio’s versatility will most certainly be a blow. That said, if we can’t give him assurances over continuous game time, then it makes sense to allow him to leave. The new signings have significantly enhanced the quality of the team, which would conceivably reduce Antonio’s involvement.
