With just a week left in the transfer window, Premier League clubs don’t have a considerable amount of time to conduct their business. Despite the plethora of new signings that we’ve completed, it appears that we’re still in the market for more additions. One such addition could see the free agent Diego Reyes, join the club.
According to Turkish football, we’re one of several teams interested in the services of Diego Reyes. The report states that Newcastle United, Fenerbahce, Bordeaux and West Ham United are all interested in signing the former Porto defender.
The 25-year-old amassed 26 appearances for the Portuguese outfit last season, scoring three goals in, all competitions as Porto won Liga Nos. Despite only being 25-years-old, Reyes has amassed considerable experience at international level; he has attained a highly commendable total of 53 caps for Mexico.
The Mexican defender is valued for his proficient aerial ability, and his unwavering defensive concentration. He doesn’t shy away from clearing the ball when required, and he demonstrates great caution when opting to tackle his opponents – he doesn’t needlessly commit to challenges. His presence would augment our defensive options.
