So far this season, Pablo Fornals is yet to show what he can do as a West Ham man. The Irons have got very little to show for the £24m they paid for the Spaniard over the summer (BBC), although Manuel Pellegrini has been very quick to defend his attacking midfield man, as per whufc.com.
"It is normal for a player that comes from another league to have some months to adapt to the different kind of games, different pace from the Spanish league. I am happy with him.'https://t.co/YegLPgGVzu

The Chilean has been very clear that Fornals needs to time to adapt to the new culture and style of football in England at West Ham, and whilst a lot of fans have bought into those comments, they’re asking what the excuse is for a lot of the club’s other top players.
It’s all good when Pellegrini comes out and defends Fornals, but there are other players are who are also failing to perform, and considering that the Hammers are now four games without a win in all competitions, something has to change, and it doesn’t look like it’s Fornals, going off the fans thoughts.
You can read those thoughts here:
Probably because he’s always played on the wing

Tbf to Fornals he is excellent at arriving in the box and had our only real chance that came from a decent move on Sat. In a previous game he also got into good shooting positions and has just been unlucky not to score. One goal and he will be up and running. Imo he is quality

Unfair to single out one player Fornals will come right he’s quality but he’s a bit slow as he isn’t used to the pace yet, at least he has an excuse what about the rest of them who have been here for two seasons that are playing poorly.

What about our so called Lanzini having 1 good game a month?
— Paul Reilly (@PauloHill16) October 21, 2019
I don’t think we can single him out when the whole team has underperformed over the last month.

What’s the excuse for the others?

The Irons have got a lot of patience when it comes to Fornals it seems, although not so much with some of their other stars.
