West Ham have progressed remarkably under the guidance of Manuel Pellegrini this season but there is still work to be done if the Hammers are to achieve their lofty ambitions during the course of the coming years.
One area of the side that requires improvement is midfield, as the Hammers have seen summer signings Carlos Sanchez and Jack Wilshere struggle for fitness, leaving options limited in the middle of the park, and there continues to be plenty of speculation regarding the future of Pedro Obiang.
A return to Italy could be on the cards for the Equatorial Guinea international and TuttoMercatoWeb states the Hammers have wasted no time finding a replacement, as they seek a deal for Napoli’s 21-year-old ace Amadou Diawara.
Persuading the Serie A giants into approving a move would certainly prove to be a difficult and expensive task but West Ham fans have taken to social media to urge their side to pull off what would be a remarkable move.
We have gathered some of their comments below.
Amadou Diawara is an upgrade on Pedro Obiang as well. Never got all of the fuss over Obiang to be honest.

No chance surely we would replace Obiang with Diawara be an unreal upgrade to have alongside Rice in the middle. He would cost us £30m I reckon so can forget that one

This would be a cracking signing. Only young too so can develop in time

Worth the investment. If we get him we have our midfield sorted for at least 3 years

Like 1% chance it happens but Diawara would be an incredible signing, him and Rice together is the stuff of pure dreams
