Despite the seven summer signings that we’ve made, it appears that we’re still intent on increasing the number. Rumours linking Alfie Mawson with a move away from the Liberty Stadium, to the London Stadium have resurfaced.

As Sky Sports reports, as cited by the Daily Star, we’re still monitoring Mawson’s situation at Swansea with an eye of making a move for the talented 24-year-old defender.

Despite Swansea’s difficulties last season, Mawson was rightly considered as one of the Welsh side’s leading players, and he is expected to depart South Wales following the Swans’ relegation to the Championship.

Here’s how West Ham supporters have responded to the rumours on Twitter.

Mawson is an exceedingly competent centre-half, who has the potential to become a truly fantastic player. During his time at Swansea, he has demonstrated his ability to thrive in one of the most competitive leagues in world football. He’s a tenacious defender, who flaunts great technical ability and he is superb in the air.

What are your thoughts? Do you agree?

  • Good potential , proven in our league, and at a good age. Sounds a sensible signing and hopefully a nice investment as well.
