To the board’s credit, this has been a tremendous transfer window for the club, and according to the latest reports, it seems that we’re poised to continue with our recruitment. It has emerged that we’re favourites to sign Besiktas defender, Domagoj Vida.
According to Milliyet, we’re favourites to sign the Croatian defender who played a vital role for his country in their recent World Cup campaign. Without question, Vida starred during the World Cup, and his contributions were exceedingly meaningful as Croatia reached the final.
The latest reports indicate that we’ve submitted a €22M bid to secure his services, but there’s also reported interest from Liverpool. The Turkish club are reportedly forced to sell the defender due to FFP regulations.
Here’s how West Ham supporters have reacted to the rumours on Twitter.

Verdict:
Our defence was incredibly shaky last season, and the presence of Vida could help to solidify our defensive unit. It would be a very useful signing!
