‘Switch our attention straight away’: Lots of West Ham fans keen on ‘ambitious’ target as ‘prefer him to Gomez’

West Ham United have been linked with a move for Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson this summer and fans have been reacting to the transfer rumour in their droves on Twitter.

According to an exclusive report by The Sun, we are said to be making an ‘ambitious’ £35million move for the England international.

It is claimed long-term target Maxi Gomez is set to remain in Spain and that has forced Manuel Pellegrini to look elsewhere and the Cherries forward has become our new number one priority.

We are believed to have been keeping tabs on the 27-year-old for a while now, however, as Bournemouth are not thought to be in any need to offload their star man, it could take a mammoth bid to have any realistic chance of convincing our Premier League rivals into selling him.

Wilson has come on leaps and bounds over the past few seasons, which has seen his efforts rewarded with a place in the England setup, but he is not without his injury woes – a quality we appear to somewhat favour in a player.

The striker suffered two horrendous knee injuries and appears to have gone from strength-to-strength, showing that he has all the attributes to be a great Premier League attacker.

And, it would seem a number of fans would be rather happy to have Wilson at the London Stadium at the expense of Gomez this summer.

Plenty of them took to Twitter to share their reaction to the transfer link and a lot of them stated they would prefer him to the Uruguayan, whilst others thought he would be less of a gamble considering that he knew his way around English football already.

Here are some of their reactions…
