West Ham United fans have got a lot of top players that they can look back on with pride from days gone by, although it doesn’t look like Andy Carroll is one who will live long in the memory. The target man spent a lot of time at the club, but his injury record was far from ideal.

In Carroll’s seven seasons as a West Ham player, the 31-year-old managed 142 games for the fans, scoring 34 goals and assisting a further 17 in that time period (Transfermarkt), and whilst some of those goals will be long remembered, the player himself won’t.
It’s nothing against the player from the fans, but there is not much that’s more frustrating than when a top player who has obvious talent cannot keep himself fit, and Carroll is certainly one of those who struggles, which is exactly what we’re seeing now he’s at Newcastle.
You can read the Irons’ thoughts on Carroll here:
Just imagine if he’d stayed fit … such a shame

The Hammers have got good memories of Carroll, but given his time at the club they should have more memories than they do.
