The start of the new Premier League season is fast approaching, and clubs are frantically attempting to conclude their deals before the beginning of the new campaign. One deal that has been confirmed has seen Cheikhou Kouyate join Crystal Palace on a permanent basis.
As was officially confirmed by the club yesterday, Cheikhou Kouyate has left the club and joined Crystal Palace. Rumours regarding his departure have been simmering for a couple of weeks, and yesterday the move became official.
Kouyate leaves the club with the best wishes of West Ham supporters, having amassed 147 appearances over the course of the past four seasons. During his time with us, the Senegalese midfielder proved to be a dependable figure at the heart of the pitch, and he scored 15 goals in all competitions for the club.
Although he has opted to join a London rival, I’d like to thank Kouayte for all that he has done over the past four years and wish him the very best for the future – as long as he doesn’t score against us!
Here’s how West Ham supporters reacted to his departure on Twitter.
you're with tomkins now sweet prince

Gutted about this, such a great character. Whilst he’s not had the greatest of times over the last couple of seasons, he certainly had some great games in claret & blue. Will be hard seeing him in Palace colours!

People that are celebrating his move need to remember he has been a loyal servant and saw us through good and bad times. A decent bloke to add, he didn’t perform to his level in the last season but I wish him the absolute best, thanks chiek!!
