Responding to a piece by football.london journalist Sam Inkersole, plenty of Hammers have been debating the latest transfer gossip that indicates former Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez could be primed for a move to the London Stadium.
According to Inkersole, if Sanchez were to make a headline-grabbing move to the Irons, he would have to take an ‘enormous’ pay cut – with the Chilean earning £400k-p/w while at Man United before heading out on loan to Inter Milan at the beginning of the season.
The journalist pointed out that Sanchez, at West Ham, would be lucky to earn a quarter of that amount plus bonuses – regardless of his past Premier League heroics with our London rivals.
Would you bring Alexis Sanchez to the London Stadium?
Yes
No
Indeed, while the rumour mill keeps on turning, it appears Inkersole has delivered some common sense to proceedings – even though a prime Sanchez plying his trade for the Hammers does seem like an enticing prospect.
Plenty of supporters have had their say regarding the gossip, with one fan suggesting that the 31-year-old is exactly the kind of player David Gold and David Sullivan would bring in – with other supporters also delivering a wide array of opinion.

Not the player we need.
Not the player Moyes will want.
However.
The type of player Sullivan & Gold will bring in.#GSBOUT— Kevan Wright (@3963knw24467) April 6, 2020
This would be an massive, expensive disaster. We need to stay well clear.

Even with a permanent 30% pay cut we couldn’t afford his wages, but we’ve already got plenty of overpaid underachieving players on the books we dont need another.

I thought Moyes was looking for young players only now.

Just like the Ljungberg or Dyer signings. Is the egg man back in charge? No thank you

This is so West Ham it’s ridiculous. This will never happen but if it did, it would be a complete and utter disaster

This has to be nonsense. Makes no sense for the club based on Moyes comments but more importantly we would never pay his astronomical wages.
