Report: West Ham United follow Arsenal in key step but with one exception

|

West Ham United have joined Arsenal in allowing players to return to training but on a different condition to the Gunners.

With football currently suspended, it is a mystery as to when we will see football return to the London Stadium and our television screens, in order to complete the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign.

Arsenal are allowing a maximum of five players at their London Colney training complex and teams anticipate the long-awaited return of the Premier League.

The Hammers have taken their next steps towards the potential restart, as they have put measures in place to ensure that players are fit enough in time for when the games get back underway.

The Evening Standard was informed that only one player is allowed access to Rush Green.

What will happen to the Premier League?

“Players in apartments or without safe access to green spaces are permitted to individually run around the pitches at Rush Green”, a West Ham spokesperson said.

“Access is limited to one player at a time and sessions will be in line with guidelines around social distancing, with everyone’s safety of paramount importance.

“Players will travel alone, conduct their tailored programmes and then return home. No one will be granted access to the main building.”

The Premier League are yet to hold several meetings which will aim of putting such an initiative in place across all 20 teams.
This has been taken in order to “quicken the pace” of the sport potentially “returning in weeks” if progression is made in those meetings. Although it is yet to be seen given the current national circumstances.
There is still a lot to wait for that is out of football’s hands. Patience is needed and the forecast outside of the sport needs to be thoroughly analysed before a decision can be taken.
