‘Overpaid and overhyped’: Lots of West Ham fans ‘won’t lose any sleep’ over player announcement

West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to share their reactions to the news that Javier Hernandez’s agent is actively looking to find him a new club this summer.

The Mexico international has revealed in an interview that he is looking to leave us in the transfer window after being told by the club that ‘it would be easier if he were to go’.

“The team is working with us. [My agent] is the one more involved,” he said on the first episode of a Youtube series Naked Humans (via Goal). “He is Spanish so has more connections here.

“He’s searching for a club, if we can move. If not I will stay with West Ham easy, happy. I have one year left, but West Ham and I have decided it would just be easier to go out.”

Hernandez has not quite hit the heights following his £16million move from Bayer Leverkusen back in the summer of 2017. Earning wages of £140,000-a-week (Spotrac), the 31-year-old has only managed to find the back of the net 16 times in 61 appearances across all competitions (Transfermarkt).

Andy Carroll and Lucas Perez are already leaving the club this summer, meaning the Mexican could be the third forward to depart us.

And, judging by the fans reactions to his comments on Twitter, it would seem many of them would not be too disappointed to see him leave should an offer come in for him.

Some supporters hardly mixed their words regarding Hernandez’s remarks, with one stating that he ‘wouldn’t lose any sleep over it’ whilst another simply said he ‘wouldn’t be missed’.

Here are just some of their reactions…
