There are still three games left to play, but it no longer seems like European football will be within our reach this year, after we failed to take all three points against Leicester City.
We had our chances to gain ground on the Foxes, when Brendan Rodgers brought his King Power Stadium natives to East London, but a questionable offside call went against us and then Harvey Barnes drifted into our box to net the equaliser in stoppage time.
Only taking one point from the game leaves us five behind Leicester, and six behind Everton and Watford.
Our upcoming trips to Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium and then Vicarage Road, on the final day of the season, could also see us drop further points, given how unbalanced our side have played on the road.
In fact, the last time we won a game away from the London Stadium was in 2018, when we beat Southampton 2-1; we have played nine away games since.
If results elsewhere go against us as well, we could even find ourselves in a fight just to finish the season in eleventh place, which is a topic that has caused some debate on Twitter…
Well, we did have a lot of help from inept/questionably motivated officials at this point. Else we’d be at least ten points higher.
Same as last time we threatened to do well and all of those decisions started going against us.— Reinhardt Auslander (@kirok1) April 22, 2019
Oh well, not what we wanted but not bad. Look at the team that spent slightly more than us and what happened to Fulham

Have we ever been “battling” for 7th place. We are an average side, at best.

TBF we’ve not had the luck with us have we? Let’s not run before we walk. Europa League is too much for us at the moment. 2 more years and we will be ready.
