News: West Ham given squad boost as forward could be set for return as soon as this weekend

|

West Ham fans have had a tough time with injuries over the last couple of seasons. The likes of Carlos Sanchez, Jack Wilshere, Winston Reid, Manuel Lanzini and Andriy Yarmolenko have missed more games than they’ve played and many others have had their issues.

Now, though, it’s emerged that one man in the Hammers’ squad who has missed the club’s last 13 games through injury could be set to make his return to the pitch as soon as the clash that the Hammers face against Arsenal this Saturday, March 7th.

That man is the Ukrainian forward Andriy Yarmolenko and Football.London’s Sam Inkersole has reported that his return date is soon, which will come as a huge boost to David Moyes who will enjoy having the rotation in and around his forward line.

Should Yarmolenko be let go?

Yes

No

Whether Yarmolenko is fit for theĀ  Saturday clash with Arsenal or not, the chances are he won’t come straight back into the side, especially given how well the front-line performed against Southampton, but having him as an option from the bench could be a huge boost for Moyes.

Football.London’s article stated:

‘Andriy Yarmolenko has been sidelined since December with a thigh injury and has now missed the last 13 games as a result. He is back in light training and was rumoured to have played in a behind-closed-doors friendly at the Rush Green training ground last week to get some minutes under his belt. He could make the squad on Saturday but it’ll be a late decision.’
