Hopefully he did enough to push himself into forefront of David Moyes’ mind ahead of the weekend.
OK, it was only against a League One side in Charlton Athletic, but it might have just given him the boost that he needed to get ready for the bigger opponent in Arsenal on Saturday. I’m talking of course about Sébastien Haller.
The French forward scored twice last night as we saw off the Addicks in the League Cup, the second of which a fin header into the far corner. Having come off the bench in the game against Newcastle United, it’s led to some fans to demand that he start on Saturday in order to give the Arsenal defence some problems, views backed by prominent West Ham social media presence ExWHUemployee:
Needs to start the next game now in my opinion. https://t.co/cyLurX2UC1

How many goals will Sebastien Haller score for West Ham United this season?
More than 15
Less than 15
Again, it should be clarified that this was a game against League One, and Arsenal will be a different kettle of fish. But after the turgid display that we put in last weekend, I suppose it could be worth a shot because anything will be better than what we put on display.
What about you? Do you think that Haller should start against Arsenal on the weekend?
