West Ham fans have got three central defenders that they can rely on on a week to week basis. The likes of Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena are top players in their own right having been brought to The London Stadium by Manuel Pellegrini, but the man the fans are loving at the moment is Angelo Ogbonna.

The Italian defender is a top player, often deployed as a left-sided central defender in a pairing or on the left of a back three, the former Juventus man is one of the player’s of the season for the Hammers so far. His performances have been top drawer, and the fans recognise that much.
Many of the replies to West Ham’s appreciation tweet for the defender have been in calling for the 31-year-old to be awarded the Hammer of the Year award, and should Ogbonna keep his performances levels up to the standard that they’re at now then he’ll be given that honour.
