Just the one change from Moyes, 27 y/o dropped: Predicted West Ham XI vs Burnley – opinion

|

West Ham United are finding a bit of form at the right time.

After what was a disastrous restart for the Hammers, they have managed to pick up some points after a 3-2 win against Chelsea and had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Newcastle, despite putting in a solid performance at St James’ Park.

This didn’t help their situation in terms of their relegation scrap and still find themselves 16th in the table, four points clear of Aston Villa and Bournemouth who sit in the relegation zone.

With every game for West Ham essentially a cup final, Burnley will be the next side to roll into town and here’s who we think will line-up on Wednesday.

We expect David Moyes’ system of 4-2-3-1 to be implemented once more, with Fabianski in between the sticks and a back four featuring Aaron Cresswell, Angelo Ogbonna, Issa Diop and Ryan Fredericks.

The two holding midfielders pick themselves, with Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek protecting the men behind them. The 25-year-old Serbian could be a crucial link having scored twice in his last two outings for West Ham.

Will West Ham stay up?

No

The only change that we expect Moyes to make is Andriy Yarmolenko coming in for Manuel Lanzini. The Ukrainian winger scored the late winner against Chelsea and we suspect he could get an opportunity here, with Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Fornals keeping their places.

Another man who is in form right now is Michail Antonio. With Sebastien Haller’s fitness still unknown for Wednesday, it is impossible to drop the Englishman at this time having also scored twice in two games.

This is a huge game for West Ham and could give themselves some breathing space away from the danger zone. But with Burnley inside the top 10, Sean Dyche’s side won’t be pushovers.

Prediction: West Ham 2-1 Burnley
