“Needs to go” – Lots of West Ham fans blast “pathetic” man who lost possession 16 times

Plenty of West Ham United fans slammed defender Aaron Cresswell after his side’s 1-0 defeat to Burnley on Wednesday.

The Hammers were left to rue their missed chances after having 20 shots on goal but were unable to penetrate the visitors’ defensive line, their most in a Premier League match since February 2019 against Fulham.

Jay Rodriguez scored the only goal of the game for the Lancashire based outfit that left West Ham four points above the relegation zone. However, there was one player in particular who the fans were displeased with.

Was Aaron Cresswell the worst player on the pitch?

Yes

No

Cresswell’s marking left the Englishman unmarked which cost the hosts dearly. Other than his mistake, Cresswell did not make a single tackle, lost possession 16 times and had no attacking input whatsoever, as per Sofascore.

Unsurprisingly, supporters were not impressed with Cresswell’s outing and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he “needs to go”, while another described him as “pathetic”.
