International Midfielder Finally Becomes a Hammer

|

For once the speculation doing the rounds relating to a possible arrival of a new signing, at the London Stadium, was spot on.

All weekend we’d been holding back on any celebrations relating to the signing of the former England international midfielder Jack Wilshere.

Here at Vital West Ham, we wanted to be sure that the deal was done and dusted and officially announced before we did our jig of delight.

Well, that announcement came on Monday when West Ham United Football Club officially announced that the 26-year-old had put pen-to-paper on a 3-year deal with the Hammers.

Wilshere joins West Ham after making 197 appearances for Arsenal and also a further 38 appearances for Bournemouth, on loan.

But, what makes the deal even more appealing is that despite his associations with another London club, Wilshere comes from a West Ham supporting family, something he readily admits in quotes picked up on by the BBC, with the midfielder quoted as having commented about the move,

“It feels special. Many people know that I’ve had a special bond with this club growing up.

“I’ve got good memories of my childhood supporting West Ham, watching them at Upton Park.”

Now officially a West Ham United player, Wilshere will fly out to the Hammers pre-season camp, in Switzerland, to integrate into a Hammers squad that is being reshaped for the 2018 / 2019 season.

Here at Vital West Ham, we’re absolutely delighted that Wilshere has joined our fine club and we’re looking forward to seeing what kind of impression he can make at the heart of our midfield.

Welcome to West Ham United Football Club Jack Wilshere.
