Hammers Academy Product Set For Championship Move

|

It would appear that a product of the West Ham Academy is set to leave the club.

According to the respected news source, Sky Sports, 21-year-old Reece Burke is set to make a permanent move to the Championship club, Hull City.

Our source suggests that the two clubs have agreed on a fee for the defender.

Last season, Burke was on loan another Championship club, Bolton Wanderers, making 21 appearances.

Previously, Burke had spent a loan spell at Bradford City whereby his performances saw him acclaimed as their player of the season.

Here at Vital West Ham, we had high hopes that Burke could progress from the Academy to being a first-team regular, however, the nature of the game these days means that the pressure on managers to obtain instant success often prevents youth from being given only a fleeting glimpse of the action.

With the Hammers already acquiring the services of Ryan Fredericks and Issa Diop this summer, perhaps the writing was already on the wall as far as the long-term West Ham future of Burke was concerned. However, I’m sure you’ll join me in wishing Reece all the best at his new club.
